COMSEC Communications Security Technician Specialist

Job Description

Job Highlights:   Depot support for Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) which includes equipment initialization, repair, replacement, warranties, recertification and destruction. The (KMI) provides an enterprise-level capability to generate, distribute, and manage electronic and physical cryptographic keying material.  The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division is the single point of contact providing depot-level maintenance support to all Services for KMI system equipment included in the KMI Management Client and peripheral devices  (KOK-32 Advanced Key Processor and KOV-29 Type-1 Token). 
Responsibilities:
• Perform a variety of  troubleshooting and failure analysis tasks which are broad in nature and are concerned with the depot level sustainment of Communications Security/Information Assurance (Key Management) equipment, systems, and/or weapon systems, including support facilities and/or equipment.
• Return COMSEC equipment to a serviceable condition
• Support the planning and performance of engineering and customer specifications and requirements,
• Assist with installation and testing of complete systems and possibly fly away support.
• Support the technical/engineering activities related to the development, integration, testing and evaluation of a project. 
• Adhere to project specific timelines for assigned system build, integration and installation tasks.
• Be familiar with established standards, procedures and maintenance management practices for depot level maintenance test including recertification of COMSEC/IA equipment. 

Position Requirements:
• All personnel will be required to have a TS/SCI security clearance based on a single-scope background investigation. 
• Personnel are required to have the necessary electronics technician skills and qualifications to fully complete the required tasks identified in the responsibilities section above.
• IT related certifications such as DoD 8570.1, Security +, Network + and A+ certifications is highly desirable. 
• Personnel will be fully functional in their positions with a minimal amount of organizational mission and culture training required. 
• Personnel working on the maintenance floor will comply with documented procedures and material management processes as indicated in operation instructions, tech orders and other regulatory guidance.
• Maintenance technicians who work on COMSEC equipment will be required to take a Government COMSEC Awareness Training Course. 

Job Location
Services shall be provided on-site at Government provided facilities, Lackland AFB (Bldgs. 2028 & 2058), in San Antonio, TX.
