Public Key Infrastructure Engineer

Summary of Position
Provides support to the Cryptological and Cyber Systems Division by recommending and implementing cybersecurity information technology solutions to secure business operations across the Air Force.  Includes providing Information Assurance (IA) subject matter expertise in the areas of policy guidance, product support, implementation strategies, and operational process analysis in support of the Public Key Infrastructure, Common Access Card, and Identity Management activities in the Air Force.  Requires professional and communications skills needed to coordinate Air Force efforts with both DoD and non-DoD partners.
The ideal candidate will work independently or in a team to identify techniques and technologies for integrating public key infrastructure capabilities into a flexible toolkit for application in cyberspace environments.  The ideal candidate should be able to comprehend system and network architectures and determine how they can be enabled with PKI security. 
Essential Job Requirements
• Be well versed and experienced with either Windows (7, 8,10, Server 2008+) and/or Linux (CentOS, Fedora, RedHat, Debian) systems
• Identify and support implementing changes to network and computer components
• Experienced working with IT infrastructure assessment tools/techniques
• Knowledge of network configurations and components, ability to assist other AF units with PKI device configurations
• Knowledgeable of the standards, practices, and processes applicable to computer security, encryption and IT in the DoD
• Maintain awareness of technologies, policies, processes and procedures associated with cyber security, information assurance, public key infrastructure, and public key enabling

Required Education 
Bachelor of Science Degree required
Master’s Degree preferred
IT Certifications (e.g. CISSP, Sec+) preferred

Required Experience
• Experience in the Cyber/PKI/IA community.
• Experience in supporting the fielding of new PKI or IA associated software or hardware
• Experience in providing technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

Required Skills
• Analytical skills - Must be able to evaluate policy and guidance, technology advancements in PKI, and operational requirements to formulate implementation strategies in the AF.
• Communication and Interpersonal - Strong interpersonal skills in order to collaborate / coordinate AF PKI positions with DoD PKI subject matter experts and decision makers

Physical Requirements
This is a standard office environment and requires lifting and moving of standard personal computers, files, and supplies. 

Equipment Used
Personal computers, software, and government phone systems and networks.

Security Clearance
Position requires a Secret clearance.
