Sr. Database Administrator (Multiple Positions)

Roles & responsibilities

Supports application developers in planning preparation, load analysis, and backup and recovery of data. When necessary, reallocates resources to maximize benefits.  Prepares and delivers presentations on database management systems (DBMS) concepts. Typical DBMS systems consist of Oracle, Sybase, DB2, SQLServer, and Informix. Provides daily supervision and direction to support staff. Monitors performance and evaluates areas to improve efficiency.

Analyzes the existing DoD PKI infrastructure to develop a feature backlog for an issuance notification system.  Prioritizes and further analyzes backlog items to facilitate the system design. 

Develops Database Design Description to support new PKE custom software.


BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or Engineering.

5 years of experience in the development and maintenance of database.

At least 2 years of experience with database management systems, system design and analysis, logical and physical database design, tuning and optimizing, operating systems software, and internal and data manipulation languages.

Secret clearance.
